Well, NutBrnHair, you made me curious. I had never heard of Cook's, but most of the wonderful world of wine and liquor is a mystery to me. Listings and ratings for "Champagne" turned up the familiar names, but not Cook's. So I tried "sparkling" and bingo! It isn't a Champagne at all, at least not according to French law, but one review said Cook's was a pretty good value in its price class IF you found it on sale for under $5 a bottle. Now I see your point: we're not talking about serious competition with Veuve Clicquot, Roederer, Dom Perignon and the like.
