Granted AIDS in the US is bad, but it's nothing compared to what's happening in Africa. They are battling poverty and ignorance on a scale that the US hasn't since in decades if not centuries. It's as if AIDs had hit the US circa 1800. The people are culturally and financially completely unprepared and the infection rate there is truly astounding. People there believe things like having sex with a virgin can cure you of AIDS. There is nothing even approaching that level of miseducation here.

When it comes to the AIDS virus Africa is really where the majority of our efforts need to be focused IMO.
