We were taught the same thing and it was true - my dog will
never go in his kennel. Once I woke up and heard him making noise - he had to throw up so he was poking his little snout out of the cage to try and not make a mess.
ZTAngel, I'd give him an ultimatim - or maybe offer to buy the dog from him.
