Yup. The house I referred to in my post was 157 Bay State Rd. There's even a pic of it in a fraternity rush booklet from the 1950s I dug up in my travels.

I agree w/ KSigKid that the odds of traditional Greek housing coming back to BU are somewhere between slim and none. But some of the old guard are holding out hope - there's (finally....) a new prez in town, and where there is new blood, hope springs eternal.

I don't think Long John Silber will ever appreciate the damage he did by eliminating the old "Greek Row". As I mentioned in another thread there is some enormous old NPC history at BU, and the school made major contributions to the Greek system in its earlier days.

This is one reason that I'm on the side of Greeks reaching out to independents. There's more of them than there are Greeks. You want them to think well of you--you never know when an independent will be in a position to make or break your legacy. And this *one* guy was a human wrecking ball to Greek life. Who knows? If his experiences had been more positive, he may not have made that choice.
