This was a good scenerio. LOL. I guess my answer is that it all depends. Yes, having sex while at work is a very serious offense. Other things would haveto be taken into consideration such as: 1). the quality of that person's work performance, 2). if this person is an asset to the company or are they expendible, 3). whether they were actually caught in the act right then or not, and 4). have they ever been reprimended before (for ANYTHING). The nature of the company would also play in this because I wouldn't want employees having sex in a restaraunt where exposure to things like germs and diseases is kinda high.
I don't know!!! The truth is if an employee were actually fired for having sex on the job---ANY JOB---- I would certainly understand. It goes against ALL codes of ethics and, of course, many universal percaution standards. But if I were in a position where I had to decide the outcome, I would probably end up firing this person too----even if this person was an excellent worker.
