Long before I met mr. honeychile, I had a first date with a nice guy, one that will forever remain the *best* first date I ever had!

We were to go to dinner & a movie, so I was dressed appropriately - nice dress, heels, etc. He called from his cell to tell me that he had forgotten that it was his godson's birthday, and that he had been invited to a birthday dinner, but he gave me the option of what to do. I was game to go to the kid's party.

I found out that this guy was well respected by his family & godson, that he played well with kids, he had a great sense of humor, and generally, that he was a wonderful guy! What could have been a major flop of a date turned out to be wonderful, and changed my mind on the "impress me" first date forever!

Which is a good thing, seeing as how I met mr. honeychile soon afterwards! LOL
