Not to be picky, but I actually said "It isn't too terribly difficult and it doesn't hurt anyone, so what's the harm, even if some do think it's hypocritical?" (To me there's a world of difference between the two statements) It's just one of those small things we can do to act responsibly/respectfully. And I agree with sugar and spice that it's pretty much null and void if you refrain from wearing letters when you go out but then share with your entire Psych 101 class who knows you're in XYZ you bonged 4 beers and passed out on some random couch the night before. We are scrutinized more because we are part of a Greek community, but that doesn't mean we can't enjoy our social freedoms at college, if we do it responsibly and respectfully, which, to me, includes refraining from wearing GLO insignia/apparel while going out. The same standards should apply for student athletes and leaders; people who are visible on campus and who are supposed to set a good example for the students and be a positive representative for the school (though I know they rarely do). I don't know what it's like at other schools, but I rarely saw varsity athletes wear their letter jackets or other athletic insignia out at the bars when I was in school. But maybe that's because they didn't want them to get all bar-smelly. Either that, or they were too cool for the bars, and drank at their apartments.

Or possibly even a shindig or lollapalooza.
Perhaps it'll be a hootshinpaloozaree. I don't know.
