I was also put under for my 4 "bony impacted" extraction. When it was over I told them I had a dream about someone punching me in the face. They said it wasn't a dream, I woke up as they were cracking one of the teeth into pieces for removal. So, ForeverDiamond, they told me to make sure I tell doctors about that if I ever have any other major surgery, because I probably need more than the average dose of anisthesia (sp?).
I also couldn't take the pain pills because with just pudding and jello on my stomach, they made me severely nauseous. I survived on 800mg ibuprofen and a heating pad. I also popped a stitch and had to go back to get that fixed. And I was "technicolor" (super bruised) as the surgeon said. But, I did survive. Although my stupid boyfriend at the time broke up with me about 3 days after surgery! At least my heart hurt helped me forget about my mouth pain.
