I had mine out the day before Christmas, 3 years ago. They gave me something that was supposed to knock me out for the surgery (they were all sorts of impacted), but it didn't totally. I could hear EVERYTHING, and it really scared me. I could also feel everything that was going on (no pain though...), and it was just really weird. It wasn't supposed to happen that way.

As for the taste or whatever, I honestly don't remember. I don't remember anything from the 3 weeks following. I don't do well with any sort of medication that makes you drowsy, so the Tylenol 3 I was on made me a zombie, to the point where I couldn't get up and walk to the bathroom without walking into at least 3 things and hurting myself. I was more bruised and swollen from that than I was from the surgery!
