First of all - though you may feel a great desire to be there, you also can't afford it (legitimately). If she were alive you know she wouldn't want you to spend your savings to come visit her...that's just how grandparents are. I suggest taking a little bit of money, buying a card and a flower boquet and have it sent for the funeral.
I know thats probably not the answer you're looking for, but times are tough and without a job, you shouldn't be spending your savings
