Mamabuddha......I did not refer to homosexuals as queer thats the name in the title of the show.................Now first and foremost I have not really decided how I will explain homosexuality to my children but I do know the conversation will not entail me telling them that they have a choice. THEY DO NOT! You may view homosexuality in a different way than i do, let me explain my way.......I do not view homsexuality as something someone is born as, no I believe it is a lifestyle people choose point blank. There are so many people who are homosexual now because they are fed up with the opposite sex, or there are some who claim to be homsexual then later on end up with the opposite sex(like that actress Ellen Degenres whose exgirlfriend is now dating a guy) those constitute choices. We pick up a lot from tv..the way we dress, the way we talk, the things we consume, and idea of how we want to look, and some pick up on the idea of what kinds of relationships they want to have. If children are subjected to heterosexual relationships and homosexual relationships on television they WILL start to believe that they have a choice. Heterosexuality is being pushed down your throat you say .......how so? I mean if never seen on television you do have a mommie and a daddy thats life, thats fact, thats how we got here. You nor I or anyone else on this board was concieved with two women or two men. The biological makeup of our sexual oragns are constructed opposite of a mans so to fit together.So therefore heterosexuality was "pushed" down your throat from the moment you were born, because thats natural life. Now we all know that in this day and age a lot of us engage in things that are ummmmmm for the lack of a better phrase "not ideal" BUT we also know that some things are a little more out of wack than others. For example right now as we speak we have scientists working on the idea of cloning humans, which at this point is illegal in the US but some say that this idea is ok to each his own right BUT is it really ok are we really supposed to try and create another human being through science? See that idea is wayyyyy out of wack it is not "idea" that we take dna from a person and create the exact replica of that person. Two people are not supposed to have the same DNA point being some things just are not natural even though they do happen. Homosexuality is a learned behavior. People say that everyone is coming out of the closet these days and being openly gay, is that really the case or are a lot of people just following the hype imitating the things they see and hear? I do not hate homsexuals nor do i poke fun or call them fags (as you insinuated). If someone wants to be gay be gay but do it at home. Homosexuals do not have to pretend to be straight but they do not have to be out in public all over each other or glorify it on tv. Nor should heterosexuals put so much sex on tv for that matter its too much sex on tv period. See i do not boast about being stragiht I could care less if someone knows my sexual preference its personal. At least if seen by an impressionable child heterosexual acts are much easier to explain to them than homosexual. Your right i would never want MY children to be homosexual I really think if never exposed they never would be, the more exsposure the greater their chances............................Its not the person its the homosexual act that I have a hard time with. Your right homosexuals are here and they are here to stay(they have been here for a loooooong time) so are rapists, racists, and murderers and I do not like my children to be exposed to that type of stuff either. NOW MAMBUDDHA I HAVE READ A LOT OF DIFFERENT POST FROM YOU. YOU SEEM LIKE A VERY INTELLIGENT PERSON. THE FACT THAT YOU ARE HOMSEXUAL DOES NOT TAKE AWAY FROM THAT. IT DOES NOT MAKE YOU ANY LESS OF A WOMAN OR A PERSON THAT ANY ONE ELSE. IT DOES NOT HINDER YOUR CAPABILTIES TO SUCCEED. IT WOULD NOT MAKE ME DISLIKE YOU OR ANYONE ELSE. YOUR SEXUAL LIFE IS YOUE BUSINESS I AM NOT DOWNING IT FOR YOU, THATS YOUR LIFE DO WHAT YOU WANT WITH IT. NEVERTHELESS THE TV SHOW (WHICH IS WHAT I ORIGINALLY POSTED ABOUT) IS A LITTLE MUCH TO ME AND I THINK THAT IT HAS GONE TO FAR IN TRYING TO MAKE THE POINT OF HOMOSEXUALITY IS HERE SO ACCEPT IT. IT IS HERE AND WE REALIZE IT!! BUT GEEEEZZZ. IF I WANT MY KIDS EXSPOSED TO THAT LIFESTYLE THEN LET ME EXPLAIN IT TO THEM, NOT A TV SHOW THAT THEY MIGHT RUN UP ON BY CHANCE FROM FLIPPING THROUGH THE CHANNELS.
SEE MY BEING A SINGLE MOTHER WITHOUT A HUSBAND DOES NOT TAKE AWAY ANY OF THE THE CHARACTERISTICS I NAMED OFF ABOVE FROM ME, BUT I STILL WOULD HATE TO SEE A TV SHOW THAT WAS DEDICATED TO GLORIFYING THAT LIFESTYLE AS IF IT IS COOL IF YOUNG WOMEN SET OUT TO INTENTIONALLY BECOME PREGNANT YOUNG AND NOT BE MARRIED OR OUR OF HIGHSCHOOL OR WITH ANY KIND OF ADEQUATE EDUCATION. AS WITH HOMOSEXUALITY, ITS SOMETHING THAT CAN BE DEALT WITH BUT NOT SOMETHING THAT IS PREFERRED..............Oh and where I live the show comes on at about 8 or 9
