I look at it this way:

If someone leaves, then they don't want to be there.

So you've lost someone that has no wish to be there?

With those 6 gone, you're left with those that are more dedicated. It's usually a good thing when you lose these types early on. Having them stay and leave at a later date is much more problematic.
