Sorry this is a repeat topic. Please merge. And for once I have never agreed more with Munchkin. For most of us, Greekchat isn't our lives and we would rather just not hear about all this drama you guys have in your "lives". And I find it funny how you all got upset at AIM chats but not the trash talking and fighting that goes on in the mod forum.

There is as much drama on GC as there is in the chats. Probably more. Although granted I haven't been chatting very much lately, when I did there was not all that much drama -- it's just that for some reason people felt the need to bring ALL the drama onto GC. Leave it for your friends' only posts on LJ, kids.
I agree that people need to keep their AIM drama on AIM. And I also agree that AIM has caused the recent "downfall" of GC -- but not for the reasons mentioned above. I talk to all the GCers I really want to talk to on AIM, either in the occasional chat or more often, individually. I don't need to come onto GC to find that "community" feeling that it used to have because the community feeling has moved off GC and onto AIM because it's a more personal form of communication. It's human nature to form divisions and cliques and inside jokes, and it's not like none of that happened before AIM chats -- it's just that now it takes place off GC and people are realizing how much they really weren't/aren't included.
Although I think that if you're worried about being "left out" on an online message board, your social life probably has more issues than any of us can help you with.
