I've wondered this before too.
I think the answer is, you need someone similar to you, but not with the exact same personality. Especially if you're dominant. You either need to be dominated or have someone to dominate.
Think about it. I don't know about you but I can't stand myself. Why in hell would I want to spend all day with two of me??
So there need to be differences. But there also needs to be common ground. If you can't agree on music, food, places, anything....you're looking at a rough road ahead.
