HC...at the risk of trying to speak for the entire half of the planet with the "Y" chromosone, I'll give it a shot. (brothers, holla if you feel so moved)
HC ... We like you to watch with us because we can "explain" it, (thus exhibit control. You know, the same reason we gots to hold the TV remote
) It also allows us to tell yall for the 15th time about our daring high school feats, like the time we scored 11 touchdowns in one game, then helped the janitor wax the whole school!
HC... We do tend to get upset when yall ask questions we deem "all out the pocket." Ask me what the playcall is likely to be on 3rd-down-and-4, not "why do they wear those colors?" (an exaggeration, I grant you, but I've heard it.) It will especially annoy us if our team messes up on the next play. That's why we yell at the frickin' TV like WE are being paid on the outcome.
HC ... We really do like watching sports with our "girl," but we straight love watching it wit the fellas. The testerone flows easier, we forearm each other on good plays, talk bullisht when players mess up, lie about what "we woulda done if we was on the field," spill food/drink comfortably knowing there's no immediate female request forthcoming to clean it up right away, and uhm, flatulence is more easily accepted (at least during the playoffs

HC...as for your last point about "having/eating cake?"...bring on the Red Velvet and the pineapple upsidedown cause I'm definitely in the minority on this one. I will leave watching the Super Bowl and the World Series in a heartbeat to uh, show a lil "hometown" appreciation. You can miss some of the game, besides... that's what SportsCenter is for
