You can really tell a Sorors amount of interaction with Omegas if she is offended by this terminology. Most Bruhs will acknowledge sorors how they wish to be called, but it is said with affection. Believe me, we know what you are. Since we are fam (in most places) its like your dad or boyfriend calling you by a pet name rather than your proper name.
