I don't think that it is an insult, however, some Texans do, and therefore I don't call them that. It, unlike the term Okie, was not orginally meant as an insult, there are many people who still use the term proudly. But, if you ask an Oklahoman who knows their history, which sadly, many in our state don't, they will tell you that you never call someone that unless you mean to start a fight.
