AFAIK, yes, they're different.
I've always believed that racism was discrimination or a prejudice based on someone's race. I also thought that it was believing that one's race is better, and because of that, the inferior race was "different", as far as character and abilities are concerned.
In Dr. Drew's and Adam's case, they thought we were "dumb" and we look funny (because we have big calves--which obviously isn't the case because I have chicken legs
). Judging by those comments alone, they generalized the fact we're less capable than they average human being.
So yes, I know the truth and none of what they say is true. Just because their images of my people are based on Lilo & Stitch and just because they're not the most educated and respected people doesn't mean what they said is something to overlook.
I see their comments as both a regional joke (a dumb one) and racism, I guess.
