i am an AOII as are my sister and mother and so was my grandmother. But my situation is a little different, my mother was just initiated, so she is an AOII because of me and my sister. But when i was going through rush (it was still rush then) a part of my decision to choose AOII was because my grandmother was an AOII, although she was initiated at a different school, as in her day there was a men's school - the university of florida and the women's school - Florida state college for women which became FSU - (my sister and i were both initiated at UF)

I definitely think it is very special that we are all AOII's, and I can't wait for my daughter to go through rush and hopefully choose AOII, even though she is only six months old right now. We have started her young though she already has AOII bibs and clothes and we sing AOII songs as lullabys - my husband thinks we're crazy (by the way, my husband was almost a pike- - he was a pledge and lived in the house - but missed initiation because he played football or something so just never got initiated - weird i know.... strange fellow i know but i love him!!)

and i definitely think the urge to join a family members fraternity is stronger in the south.
