I am of the philosophy that "if you gotta go, you gotta go" - but (warning: possible TMI ahead) I always use one of those paper toilet seat covers, or at least toilet paper on the seat, if in a public restroom.

I will never forget the look on my husband's face the first time he came out of a men's room in HK that had Asian-style toilets. "There were holes in the floor... that flushed!" LOL
