hijack: when i worked in retail, I had kids give me their balled up money. I told them, politely, to please unball their money and hand it to me. Most kids, that I've tended, didnt know that. Some of them were just plain *evil*, but I took it as a chance to teach them something. I show that to my daugther now too.

I get the "you must be an oreo, you talk white, you think you are better than us b/c you went to a white school, blah, blah" all the time. My attitude is this: unless you are signing my paycheck, kindly get out of my air, KMA, and get the heck on.
It took me a LOOOOOOONG time to get to that point, though. Some people only see skin color, and that is ok. That just shows how shallow THEY are. I am SO much more than Black, and if you don't/won't/can't take the time to learn more about me, then sorry for ya! Your loss. lol
I do agree that skin color is still an issue in 2003, which is sad.
