AKA-Monet, I like that idea of restating their question.
I am a black woman that absolutely loves to wear shoulder length locks and my nose rings. Currently I'm temping at Wilmington Trust where it's PW and half of the black people that work in department are void of culture and try to assimilate.
I guess there's nothing wrong with that (although I don't believe in conforming to appease the masses). But they treat me as if the only degree I have is a high school diploma, which is not the case. I have a BA and MA and several of these folks only have a BA and a certificate or just a certificate.
They tell me obvious things which irriates the
out of me and I wonder is it b/c I'm black, a temp, black with locks and a nose ring. What is it? Do I look stupid? Do I sound stupid when I talk? I'm always wondering. And the fact that I'm wondering what these folk thing irritates me even more.
