The Alpha Phis at my school used to sing a song that went "It's PHEE, not PHEYE" or something like that. I think they sang it just for our benefit
(j/k) (AEPhi was the only other sorority with a Phi in its name, though we had a bunch of fraternities - Phi Delta Theta, Pi Lambda Phi, Phi Beta Epsilon (local), etc - all of whom also pronounced it PHEYE.)
Oh darn it - I've turned this into a PHEE vs PHEYE debate
