i'm not quite sure what the argument is.. Massachusetts is referred to as a commonwealth, not a state. We call it "The Commonwealth of Massachusetts" not "The State of Massachusetts". You can look up dictionary definitions of commonwealth all you want, but I'm going to go by what the historical documents say, not American Heritage. I think they have a bit of a better idea.
and wow, for someone who gets all bent out of a shape when someone makes some slight comment about Texas, way to bash Mass.
