Phoenix-- Some relgions feel strongly about ANY organization that you pledge any sort of allegiance too. There's also relgions that don't allow their members to say the Pledge of Allegiance in school. My mom was raised Wisconsin Synod Lutheran. So she wasn't even allowed to join the Girl Scouts!

lifesaver-- I totally agree with your statement about fundamentalist religions having the biggest problems with secret societies. But, I'm a little confused about something. Aren't Orthodox Jews considered fundamentalist? I ask because my great, great, great grandfather (I can't remember if it's two or three greats. ) was not only an Orthodox Jew but also a Master Mason. Which has baffled me because Masons have a strong Chrisitian background.
