I hope this story doesn't cross any lines, but I wont' mention the other chapter. A girl who rushed this last year had us and XYZ (to which she was a legacy throughher mom) as her two pref parties. She joined XYZ. I saw her a few weeks later and she said she wished she could've joined ADPi but her mom wouldn't have paid for ANYTHING (not even school anymore) if she had gone anything else. She ended up being miserable. I don't want that to happen to my daughter someday. So maybe I'll just strongly encourage her, but not FORCE. : ) Just my random thoughts.

Oh, I understand
perfectly!!! We had a
five-generation legacy rush our chapter. She did
not want to go greek (she only rushed us), but of course, she was pushed into going ADPi by her mother, two aunts, and her grandmother who was then one tier away from Grand Council (and probably the ghosts of two prior generations!). Anyhow, she was a miserably unhappy pledge, and we were informed that she would be initiated at Convention, rather than at our chapter. Convention Initiation being as grand as it seems, she transferred to a school without a greek system immediately afterwards, and her name doesn't even appear in any of the alumnae undate books.
I highly doubt that there will be a six-generation legacy from her - but stranger things have happened!
