I agree with you, but I just don't see a reason to mention it. The girl makes ok booty shaker music. I dont listen to it for emotional depth.

For what it is, it's aight. Her singing ain't great, but she IS a compelling performer. When she's on a stage people want to watch her. There's no point in criticizing the girl for not being something she has absolutely no ability to be.

There is so much other music that I do enjoy - I dont mind her going for her slice of the pie. She doesn't offend me since I dont think that finding her musi blandly dancable is a crime. If anything I GREATLY admire the marketing savvy that goes into putting her together. I dn't know if she is the evil genius behind it or if she is dumb as a doorknob, but Britney has made herself into a businessswoman.

That I can always appreciate.
I ditto this. Like I said in another thread, I think it's so weird that people get annoyed with Britney for having no singing talent. Has she ever claimed to have singing talent? In every interview I've seen with her, she hasn't referred to herself as a "musician," but as a performer, which she definitely is. If you don't like her music, that's fine -- but why get annoyed with her because she's not Whitney Houston? There's only room for so many Whitneys in the music business. Britney sets out to make catchy, fun "bland booty shaking music" and she does it well. What's wrong with that?

Also, the reason why I think that a lot of Britney fans get offended when you dis her is because one of the biggest reasons that they like her is because they identify with her in some way. Thus when you dis Britney, they feel attacked.

Kind of like when I loved Cara from Real World: Chicago because I felt like she was the made-for-TV version of me (well, except for the whole Jewish part), and everybody else referred to her as an anorexic skank with too many issues.
