Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia has a similar national examination requirement, excapt that a 100% score is required before a probationary member can proceed to initiation. (A PM can take the test again until he gets the 100% score). We also require, as do many fraternities, a "retention vote" just prior to initiation. Pledges (or whatever you may call them) need to be reminded that the brotherhood will consider their attitude and diligence during the pledge period when time for that retention vote comes. The flip side of that is that the brotherhood needs to be setting the example of good attitude and diligence.

I second (third?) the suggestion to contact ATO headquarters. Also, look around your campus and see what other chapters are doing that is working. Good luck!
