Some people do use Atkins as a "quick fix" - eat low-carb for a few weeks, drop ten pounds, and go right back to the sugary snacks. They don't understand that it has to be a way of life if it's going to work long-term. And so, many Atkins dieters who
are in it for the long haul get a bad name by association.
It's the same with any eating plan - low-fat, low-calorie, or low-carb. You have to be in it for the long haul; you have to be prepared to make permanent changes to the way you eat, otherwise as soon as you go back to your old ways of eating, the pounds will come back, probably with some friends.
Heck, it's even the same with these fad diets, although I think you'd get bored pretty quick if you could only eat cabbage soup for the rest of your life
