If us damn humans would stop building on all their habitat maybe they wouldn't be eating dogs and being so close to houses. Urbanization pays a big price on large carnivorous animals...but they are important to our ecosystems. (NOTE: I am a Conservation Studies Major- like Environmental Science- so this is my area of concern/expertise)
Her pen is topped so she is save. My parents tried bringing her inside but she is an out door dog and she goes crazy scratching at the door to get out. So My dad just made sure that her cage was safe. Yes we live in Northern California in Nevada County.

I agree with you on the habitat but where they live there is a 10-20 acres parcel minimum and their house was built in the 20's when 4 rocks was a good foundation to a house. They have never had an issue with Mountain Lions before but their neighbor said over the past six months the Mountain Lions have been picking off the calves and they also lost a couple small horses.
