I don't think it is that he has had no positive black role models; it sounds to me like he has never wanted to be black. It sounds like he's one of those folks who wished, every day of his childhood and adult life, that he were born white because of the "advantages" and "priviliges" that white skin brings about. It is so sad that someone could be so insecure! The saddest thing is that, no matter what he says or writes or lobbies for, he is still, in the eyes of white America (the race he longs to be a part of) a BLACK man! They bob their heads and kiss his face only because he is a pawn they can use to get their laws and statutes passed. Poor thing...
