That song is not really one of my favorite Fountains of Wayne Songs. I have been listening to them since 1996-1997, whenever it was that their self-titled debut came out. "Stacey's Mom" is not one of their strongest pieces but I'm rooting for them anyway. They write smart (emphasis on smart) retro-pop songs. Anyone who can do smart pop rules my world.
