I think it's safe to say Weaver could be compared to Ed Whitson (except without the punching the manager episode - Whitson's fight with Billy Martin may be one of the top ten Yankee moments ever). You could also point to Kenny Rogers, an otherwise solid pitcher who blew it in NY.
I give you big-time credit for the Whitson reference though; pitiful part of Yankee history when Steinbrenner was at his worst (also see Steve Kemp, Dave Collins and the 1982 season).

I'd forgot about Eddie Lee from Tennessee fighting with Alfred Manuel "Billy" Martin back in the day. I've followed baseball since 1977, so I remember when George was at his worst.
