If you are able to live in, i recommend it. My chapter doenst have a house, but we have designated/official sorority floors in the dorms. I lived in and got my own room because of being a lil control/neat freak, never having shared a room with anyone in my life, and wasnt about to start(plus i was a junior/senior so i had that priority.

Living in can be as fun as you make it, in addition to being a great eye opener to yourself. While i had many fun times on the floor, there were also nerve wrecking times that pissed me off as well. However, i learned a great deal about myself and other people by living there, and I believe i'm better for it. I wouldnt have learned from that experience otherwise, and despite the bad times of it, I wouldnt trade that experience for anything either.

While some of the rules by living in seem a drag, and there are other downsides to it, it's still an experience that you should have, so I would highly consider living in if you can. After one semster or two if you truly feel that you cant handle living in and it's not for you(granted it's not for everyone) then that's okay. Atleast then you'll know, and you'll still have the experiences.
