So my reunion was last night...

WORST. FUNCTION. EVER.

It was done by one of those reunion-organizing companies. They rented out five different function rooms and were running five simultaneous reunions (which meant they could get away with one check-in desk and two staffers for all five reunions).

Food: No hors d'oeuvres, just a veggie platter and a cheese platter. Buffet dinner - the food was decent, nothing special. I wasn't expecting a gourmet meal, but some hors d'oeuvres would have been nice.

Bar: Two-hour open bar with house liquors. Mixed drinks were terribly watered down. They switched over to a cash bar five minutes before the 2 hours were up.

DJ: Wayyy too loud, and playing a seemingly random mix of lame music. I think the guy just loaded up a bunch of CD's and hit "random". Nobody was dancing.

Classmates: Chatted with a number of them, saw and was seen. I was easily the best-dressed there; a bunch of people showed up in jeans. Of course, everyone was wildly successful as a doctor, lawyer, investment banker, model, software engineer, etc.

On a visit to the ladies' room, I noticed that someone had taken advantage of the opportunity to smoke some pot. Yes, it was high school all over again.

A bunch of us, myself included, snuck out after we'd eaten and the bar became a cash bar.

I think I'll skip the 20th.
