"Bless thee our daily bread, bless our lives through
Grateful we come, O Lord, grateful to you."
It's funny -- I was trying to remember the words last night and for the longest time I could only remember the last two lines.
Our chapter is kind of limited on songs. During rush we sing (I have no clue whether or not these are the correct titles; I'm guessing):
"D E L T A"
"Ba Doom Ba Doom"
And on Pref night "Pass It On," "Candle on the Water" and "Welcome In" (I think the first two are pretty standard but I don't know how many chapters do "Welcome In" or even if it's a Tri Delta song)
For party songs we only know "Drink Beer," "My Trusty Trident" and "Take Your Date Around the Corner." And the only cheer we know is "I am a T."
So I stole an old songbook from the 1980s and I'm going to see if I can learn any of the songs our chapter used to know back then, because there used to be lots more.
Everybody's favorite rush song is "Ba Doom Ba Doom." My favorite ritual song is "Under the Moon."
One song that I really wish I knew the melody to is the Tri Delta engagement song:
As day's gold light fades into the night,
And is softened by shades of blue;
When silver stars first wink into sight,
Of the crescent moon that is new;
My thoughts go back to the time we met,
To the times we have in store;
As through life we go, there is one thing I know,
I could never love you more.
I think the music is somewhere in the songbook I borrowed so hopefully I'll know it pretty soon.
