This is not so much questions they should ask, but more like a game plan.

I was shy but I became better at social settings because of Rush, I think it's best for the shy person to try to make the people they talk to laugh. Whether it be a comment on current events, a teacher, classes etc. the key is to make the conversation as likeable and fluid as possible. Doing this sets the shy person and the PNM at ease, it makes the interaction more enjoyable, and the shy person relaxes the nerves she gets and then she becomes more talkative. This skill carries over into work after college; I found it immensely helpful in most cases. Not to mention, the more you practice, the easier it becomes to just be yourself.
