I saw something like this on an episode of The Jeffersons. The man that George saved said to his friends after finding out that a Black man is the one who saved him that he wished he would have been left to die.
I would think that the medical has to help this woman in any way they chose and didn't need to cater to this family's request because of the oath that they take. Since they did it, I am not sure what to think -- if they would have refused I guess that this man would have sued even though he would have had no legal leg to stand on.
