[B]I have to disagree, that extended Yo that sounds more like Yerrrrruuurp! is orginally from Brooklyn...It's a warning call for when the Poe-poe (Police) are coming.

We also say 5-0 and 'dem boyz for Police Officers

Whilin' pronounced Wh-al-lin another term for crazt or buggin
Ques: "Can you drive me across town"
Reply: "Oh, nah you whilin' "

Son ~ another word for friend , used for males and females can also be used disrespectfully, as in "you just got son'd" as in you got played

Gully ~ another term for someone that don't take no mess
" Yo, your peoples is Gully, she don't let no one skate"

speaking of which skate is commonly used outside in my neighborhood for folks that just try to slide by or get away with murder **how ironic**

Loose ~ crazy, funny, acts a fool

Bird ~ ghetto chick

G-unit ~ Gay or homosexual

Tight ~ very upset

tight= i remember when tight meant dope, fly, cool, something really good. perhaps i have my regions mixed up.

but my most favorite ones:

homey1: yo, whadddup SON

homey2: nothin'! yo, whaddup witchu god

son and god- it seemed like everybody would use that, especially after the wu came out!
