I was the same age as this chick when My Girl came out, and I was at a Blockbuster in Burbank, CA and the people that worked there asked for my autograph! I signed it Julie ****** and they were like, who the hell is this?? LOL...then they told me it was a good "fake name" and my family got our movies for free.
