My new office is inside the VA office (which makes no sense to me, but oh well...) Anyways there was an interesting quote here about veterans that I wanted to share:

"The responsibility to care for veterans, spouses, survivors, and dependants can last a long time. The last dependant of a Revolutionary war veteran died in 1911. About 439 children and widows of Spanish-American War veterans still recieve VA compensation. Six children of Civil War veterans still draw VA benefits."

That was as of April 2003. I think its kind of neat that there are still direct links to people who served so very long ago
