It's called cokes because typically, Coke (or some other soft drink), is served. Our house does "Club 427" (our address is 427 Russell St.) and we turn our house into a dance club. Last year we served cherry 7-Up in these cool martini glasses with cherries inside them.
We sing the Coke song too when the PNM's leave our house that day. You know... "do do do do, Always Sigma Kappa.... do do do do, we're always the real thing" that one.
Purdue uses really weird terms. If it wasn't for Greek Chat, I wouldn't know how the rest of the country operates. Purdue's Greek system definitely has its own culture regarding terms and practices.
