It's Florida. Floridians are really into pastels. I have never seen a dark color house in FL since I moved 3 years ago-(it may be also due to the heat -it's better to have lighter colors).
He must not live in a homeowner association community because they are very stringent about the colors of your house. I can't believe that this story made the news last night.
