A few years ago, my biological sister was taken to the emergency room at a local hospital. I left school (wearing a Chi Omega shirt) and met my mother in the waiting room. While we were waiting, a group of older women walked by. One of the women looked at my shirt and turned back to me. She pointed to my letters and said, "Me too", smiled, and shook my hand. Turns out she was an alumnae from my chapter from the 50's! My mother was kind of impressed--I don't think she realized how big the whole "sorority thing" was until then.

Another fun story--one of my best friends went to her grandmother's house soon after she got her Chi Omega bid. It turns out her grandmother is a sister from our chapter, and her great aunt was our chapter president in the late 1930's! Her grandmother still meets with "her Chi O's" (as she calls them) from time to time, and my friend has some of her grandmother's sorority keepsakes now.
