Most people say "zee" as the pronunciation for Xi (me, for one), although I'm sure a Greek scholar would tell you that properly it is "kzee." So "ka-zee" is basically just saying that really slowly and drawn out.

It's also a southern drawl thing (correct me if I'm wrong here).
I've never heard this one before! I was wondering the same thing when I saw the "ka-zee" thing. Of course, we didn't have this song at our chapter, either, so I don't know. I was an Alpha Xi at a Southern school...and I have never heard anyone here in NC pronounce it that way (I'm also an advisor at another Alpha Xi chapter here in NC). I'm not trying to dispute this point or anything...I'm just saying that it's news to me!

So, would Theta Xi then be properly pronounced as Theta ka-zi? How does that work?

I remember the DZ's doing this one when I went through Rush! I loved it....I was hoping we would have one like it whenever I started learning all our chants. They would get louder and faster...it's still ringing in my head 6 years later!!!

I remember the Alpha Gam's did one to the tune of "Macho Man" by the Village People...I only remember this because it's so catchy. I really hate it when I get it in my head because I can't get it out!!! It goes:

Al-pha Al-pha Gam
You've got to be
an Alpha Gam

and of course they made up words to the verses, and they had these cute little hand motions.
