We'll celebrate on the 9th. Ever since I was initiated (November 1999), the EI chapter has always done the Founder's Day ceremony with EVAC (Eastern Virginia Alumnae Chapter) and it was usually at a room on campus or some place in the area that EVAC rented. But this will be our third year celebrating with EVAC and the AX chapter (at William & Mary). Since 2001, it's become a larger event in which the two collegiate chapters get together with the alumnae chapter and have some food, perform the ceremony and just talk to each other.
It's really nice to be able to share Founder's Day with another collegiate chapter because it just makes you realize that Gamma Phi Beta is more than just the chapter on your campus and that even though these women are strangers, you still share that bond of sisterhood.
And it's nice to spend Founder's Day with the alumnae as well (which I'm now one of) because it goes to show that Gamma Phi Beta doesn't end with graduation. It also helps collegians to interact with alumnae so that the transition from one to the other is easier.
