My sister's AXO chapter's mascot was an alligator. I thought that was tight!!
I mean, all the other sororities had thier bears, ladybugs, owls, etc, but when it came down to it, we all know that 'gators would romp on all of em.
Are we defining mascots and symbols as the same thing? The snake is featured prominently on the SNu Coat of Arms, as well as badge and candidate pin, but it's not our "mascot" Technically, it's not even a symbol, but makes up parts of our other symbols.
At my chapter at A&M though, we took the snake on as our mascot, using it for intramurals and various other things. I know a couple chapters that have had chapter pet snakes too.
