I worked with a lady who this happened to twice. She was morbidly obese (clinical term-I'm not being mean...this was a medical diagnosis b/c she was more than 100 pounds overweight). She never had a cycle, and a weight gain of 9 or 10 pounds never sent up the red flag-she always had gastro-problems like indigestion, etc.

Her first child she learned about on her way to the hospital in the ambulance when she went into labor, after thinking her appendix had burst. Her second child, she found out about when she was 7 months along and was having an ultrasound for her gallbladder. She was thrilled both times, but man, it shocked the rest of us at work.
