My 2 cents

I feel I can comment here on my own personal experiences....now I fully understand and accept that this could very well be unique to me so let me preface this by saying that it's not an attack on non-NPC or national orgs--just what I experienced.

I originally was a pledge to a local organization on my campus--who had the same type of expectations as the organizations featured on SL and FL. We were basically made to be the beck and call girls of the actives. We had to 'earn' our way in, and if we did not do exactly what the actives wanted, how they wanted it done we would get in a lot of trouble. This is exactly what I see in SL--especially in SL3.

Did anyone pick up on when Linnese (sp?) called michelle--Michelle seemed very anxious to know what she needed or wanted. I just see a sorority where the actives feel like they're the queens of the world, and the pledges have to kiss their feet to get in.

I also feel that Sorority Life is a big misnomer for this show--all they ever show is rush/pledging. There's so much more to being in a sorority that they don't show--I'm figuring because it won't get ratings or anything.

I just wish that the stereotypical image of 'earning your way in' or 'proving yourself worthy' to get into a GLO would stop showing up on tv. If it weren't for new members all organizations would die out in the end wouldn't they?
