I try not to shake my head or anything like that (although I find myself doing it), because my first few posts on GC left a little to be desired. I usually let a memberfriend correct it, because that's how I got checked, and it worked for me.
I think it's okay for other SFs to send private emails - just as long as you don't call them out in the public forum.
